NFL Free Agency Has Sent Shockwaves Across The League

It is that time of the year again. The flowers are blooming. The cold is fading away. And free agency for the NFL has sent shockwaves across the league. Big stars from all around the league are signing contracts, receiving release papers, and moving on from one team to the next.

For the past two weeks, before free agency opened, headlines in the football world were about this receiver. This receiver has had five consecutive 1,200 yards receiving seasons, led the league in touchdown catches, and managed to become the face of Madden 19. All in all, this receiver is pretty good. The game’s most dangerous receiver is named Antonio Brown.

Antonio Brown and the Steelers organization have had their fair share of controversy, arguments, and scandals; however, they always seemed to put that to the side when game day arrived. At this point though, Brown was frustrated with his love/hate relationship with the Steelers. After being criticized by his quarterback, coach, and teammates, Antonio Brown decided to request a trade and he is now an Oakland Raider.

Everyone was shocked.

Aside from Antonio Brown, Odell Beckham Jr., arguably the most popular NFL star, was also traded. It was announced at 7 o’clock on March 12 that Beckham Jr. is now officially a Cleveland Brown. Since being drafted five years ago, Beckham Jr. has made headlines for his extravagant catches and trendy touchdown dances. In Cleveland, Beckham can now play with his best friend and former LSU roommate Jarvis Landry. Landry and Beckham Jr. are both star receivers in the league, so this is a match made in heaven for Cleveland. Baker Mayfield should have fun throwing bombs to those two.

Other big-time players switched teams as well. Former Giants’ safety Landon Collins now plays for the Washington Redskins. Former Seahawks’ safety Earl Thomas is under contract with the Baltimore Ravens. Mark Ingram, Eric Weddle, Nick Foles, Trey Flowers, and many more have also moved.

Lastly, Le’Veon Bell finally found a home. He decided to take the biggest cash deal he could get and signed with the New York Jets.

Bell got the money he asked for, but that championship ring is not coming home any time soon.
