On Friday, April 12th, Spain Park’s Model United Nations Club had a St. Jude’s Fundraiser to raise money for children’s cancer. There were booths, games, and music, and the event was successful, as more than $1000 was raised overall.
St. Jude’s is a pediatric cancer hospital that funds both research and treatment for kids around who are suffering with cancer. Every 3 minutes a kid is diagnosed with cancer, so pediatric cancer is a serious issue that plagues society.
With society’s cooperation and support, funding for cancer can be increased, and the rate of survival for pediatric cancer patients can be increased.
