ATTENTION RISING SENIOR GIRLS: Are you interested in earning scholarship money for college? Want to make new friends from other schools in your area? If so, then Distinguished Young Women is the program for you! Distinguished Young Women is a unique program offered to rising senior girls. This program allows girls to earn scholarship money for college while making new friends by competing in five categories: fitness, scholastics, self expression, talent, and interview.The program occurs over a 2-3 week period in the summer before starting your senior year. Initially, the program starts at the local level and the winner of the local level is named the Distinguished Young Woman for that county. The next level of the program is state. The young woman named for each county goes on to compete in the state level. Whichever young woman is named the Distinguished Young Woman of Alabama goes on to compete at the national level. Within each level, there is always an opportunity for earning more scholarship money while making new friends. For any girls who are not yet seniors, you are strongly encouraged to sign up and participate as a little sister.
