It’s no doubt that the class of 2021 has endured many challenges during their senior year. I thought it would be a good idea to reminisce on a few childhood memories in order to bring back some of the good days! I sent out a survey to Spain Park’s class of 2021 and here are some of the results:
The favorite childhood shows of the senior class were iCarly, Phineas and Ferb, and Suite Life on Deck/Zack and Cody.
Their favorite event this year was football games/Friday nights at 54.4% at Jaguar Stadium!
Their favorite candy was chocolates with a voting of 44.7%, and sour candy at 29.1%.
Capri Suns (90.3%) proved far more superior to Kool Aid Jammers (9.7%).
Seniors voted that Godzilla (52.4%) will win in a fight against Shrek (47.6%) (wrong).
Netflix was their favorite streaming service at 79.6%, with Hulu, Disney Plus and Amazon Prime all coming in at 6.8%.
Their favorite childhood movies were Aladdin, Toy Story, and Finding Nemo!
Seniors agreed that the binder color for science is green, english is yellow, math is blue and history is red.
Senior’s voted that the movie Tangled (72.8%) was far more superior than the movie Frozen (27.2%).
56.3% of seniors had more than 7 mental breakdowns in their senior year alone. Yikes.
77% of seniors were going to college in-state.
85% of seniors preferred iced coffee to hot coffee.
62% of seniors were paying for college through scholarships, 22% through daddy’s money, 11% voted through loans and grants, and 3% voted through working.
40.8% of seniors voted for cheese pizza, 27.2% voted for pepperoni pizza, 14.6% for sausage, 11.7% for supreme, and 5.8% for veggie pizza.
96.1% of seniors liked the crust on their pizza.
Driver’s License by Olivia Rodrigo was voted the ‘Song of the Year.'
17.5% of seniors voted for vanilla ice cream being the best ice cream flavor. 25.2% voted for cookies and cream, and cookie dough came in third for 13.6%. Chocolate had a sad 10.7%.
The best genre of music was voted at 30.1% for indie, 21.4% for other, 20.4% for country, and 19.4% for rap.
60.2% of seniors voted for macaroni as a side dish, rather than a main dish at 39.8%.
Seniors voted that senior year has been bittersweet at 88.3%, rather than 8.7% at bitter and 2.9% at sweet.
The Senior class of 2021 is a class that will truly go down in history. We are so proud of all of the challenges they were able to overcome and we are so excited for them to start new chapters in their lives. As a current senior, I will forever miss all the memories I made at Spain Park High School and will forever bleed blue. Here’s to new beginnings! Go Jags!
